Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common HVAC questions from our 30+ years of experience serving Palm Beach County.

AC Repair

How quickly can you come out for a repair?

We strive to provide same-day or next-day service whenever possible. AC problems in Florida can't wait, so call us at 561-585-6819 and we'll get you on the schedule as quickly as we can.

Do you charge for estimates on repairs?

We charge a diagnostic fee to come out and assess the problem, which covers the technician's time and expertise. This fee is typically applied toward the repair cost if you proceed with the work.

My AC is running but not cooling. What could be wrong?

Several things could cause this: low refrigerant, a dirty air filter, a frozen evaporator coil, a faulty compressor, or thermostat issues. Some are simple fixes, others need professional diagnosis. Start by checking your air filter—if it's clean and you're still not getting cool air, give us a call.

Should I repair or replace my AC?

This depends on the age of your system, the cost of repairs, and how frequently you've needed service. Generally, if your AC is over 10-15 years old and the repair costs more than half the price of a new system, replacement might make more sense. We'll give you our honest recommendation.

Do you work on all AC brands?

Yes, we service all major brands including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, York, Bryant, American Standard, Amana, and more. Whether you have a central air system, split system, heat pump, or package unit, we can help.

AC Installation

How much does a new AC system cost?

AC installation costs vary based on the size of your home, the type and efficiency of the system, and the complexity of the installation. We provide free in-home estimates so we can assess your specific needs and give you accurate pricing with no surprises.

How long does AC installation take?

Most residential AC installations can be completed in one day. More complex installations, such as those requiring ductwork modifications, may take longer. We'll give you a timeline during your consultation.

What size AC do I need for my home?

Proper sizing requires a load calculation that considers your home's square footage, insulation, windows, orientation, and other factors. An oversized system short-cycles and doesn't dehumidify properly; an undersized system can't keep up. We perform these calculations as part of our installation process.

Do you offer financing for new AC systems?

We can discuss payment options during your consultation. Our goal is to help you get the comfort you need at a price you can afford. Contact us for current options.

Maintenance

How often should I have my AC serviced?

We recommend annual maintenance at minimum. If your system is older or runs heavily, twice-yearly service (spring and fall) can help catch problems early and keep your system running efficiently.

What's included in an AC tune-up?

Our checkup includes thermostat calibration, electrical connections inspection, refrigerant level check, evaporator and condenser coil inspection, condensate drain cleaning, air filter check, blower motor inspection, overall performance evaluation, and safety inspection.

How often should I change my air filter?

Check your filter monthly and replace it every 1-3 months, depending on how often you run your AC, whether you have pets, and the type of filter. A dirty filter restricts airflow and makes your system work harder.

Can maintenance really prevent breakdowns?

While nothing prevents every breakdown, regular maintenance catches many problems before they cause failures. Issues like dirty coils, low refrigerant, or failing capacitors can be identified and addressed during a checkup, saving you from emergency repairs.

Mobile Home HVAC

Is mobile home AC different from regular AC?

Yes, mobile homes often use different types of systems like package units and have unique installation requirements. The construction and insulation of manufactured homes also affects how AC systems perform. We specialize in mobile home HVAC.

Can you service roof-mounted AC units?

Yes, we regularly service and replace roof-mounted package units common in mobile homes. We can also address roof seal issues that often cause leaks with these units.

Do you service older mobile home AC units?

We service AC systems of all ages. If parts are available, we can repair it. If your system is very old or uses obsolete refrigerant, we can discuss replacement options that fit your budget.

Costs & Pricing

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, we provide free estimates on AC installations and major work. For repair calls, we charge a diagnostic fee that is typically applied toward the cost of the repair if you proceed.

Are there hidden fees?
